Review
of "The
UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD-ROM by Chief Editor, Duncan M. Roads.
This
is a really killer CD-ROM! Fully interactive, with literally hours
and hours of exploration into all facets of UFO research, including
crop circles, Alien implants, Government cover-up,pilot sightings,
cattle mutilations and much much more. It contains never before seen
video material featuring Bob Dean, Linda Moulton Howe, Dr. Roger Leir,
Jaime Maussan, Colin Andrews, astronaut Dr. Brian O'Leary and many
more.
The
producers have gone to considerable expense to get the best names
in their fields onto this interactive CD-ROM. On top of these presentations,
there are heaps of UFO pictures and never before seen film footage
which will take you hours to get through.
(Readers
of the Australian, US / Canada and UK / Europe editions of NEXUS will
notice there is an advertisement for this excellent CD-ROMon the back
or inside cover.)

- A
review of "The UFO Anthology Vol. 1 " from John
Horrigan, Spokesperson for "The Unexplained" CD-ROM.
"I
can't tell you how impressed I am with The
UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD-ROM! As a spokesperson for Flagtower's
1996 release of "The Unexplained", I had the chance to evaluate
beta versions before it was released commercially and I became very
acquainted with the multi-levels of accessible information contained
on the CD-ROM. At that time, I felt that it was the most concentrated
interactive effort ever put forth on a CD-ROM.
Well, it was. However, The UFO ANTHOLOGY Vol.1 CD-ROM blows away "The
Unexplained". The depth of information and variety of never-before-seen
photographs makes this such a unique resource. Bob Dean's chilling
narration puts the viewer at the very edge of their seat. The depth
of the sections and subsections are nothing short of staggering.
Anyone who has an in-depth knowledge or just a passing interest in
the subject of UFOs is missing out on an extraordinary tool that is
guaranteed to provide them with uncanny insight and UFO accounts that
they may not have been previously aware of.
I
plan to watch the spectacular nine plus-hour program several more
times, as the entertainment factor is very high. For the price you
are offering it for, I feel that I somehow cheated YOU! This is five-star
CD-ROM. Hats off, OvniLab! You not only hit a home run with this one,
but you hit it out of the park! I anxiously await your Second Volume."
-John
Horrigan, Spokesperson for "The Unexplained" CD-ROM.

UFO Anthology Vol. 1 " by Tom Garret of Microsoft Network
UFO Forum:
I
have spent about 2 and a half hours so far. The time has gone by in
a flash because I have been totally enthralled! I got The
UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD-ROM on Monday, and since I knew we would
have Linda Moulton-Howe as a guest chat on Tuesday, I went through
the complete section on Mutilations. When I was in the chat, I knew
exactly what Linda was commenting on and the pictures I had seen on
the disc came to mind when she mentioned them. This disc is a great
reference and educational tool. I have briefly looked at the other
sections, and the quality and content still amaze me. This is so much
better than reading a book. And it's easy to use!
I presume the major narrator is Robert Dean? Anyway, he (the narrator)
mentions photos of the far side of the moon and analyzed by Richard
Hoagland. I thought, "Uh,oh...here we go" knowing of the
controversy around Hoagland and faked photos. But I was impressed
that the narrator acknowledged that it was up to the individual viewer
to decide for himself. That is a definite plus! As I go through different
areas, I am already writing the review. I am trying to convey my first
impressions while they are fresh.
So
far, you and your staff have done a remarkable job of assembling all
this information and presenting it in such a refreshing manner. I
know that my knowledge base will be drastically increased and that
I will refer to The UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD-ROM constantly, not only
to refresh myself, but to verify facts and circumstances. One question
I do have, what is going to be on Volume 2?
-Sincerely,
Tom Garrett

review of "The UFO Anthology Vol. 1 " by Tom Garret
of Microsoft Network UFO Forum:
When
I opened the shrink wrapped CD, the first thing I did was read the
brief install pamphlet. Installation was a snap, even for me. Then
I read the credits (which is unheard of ) and it reads like a UFO
Whos Who. So when I actually started the CD, I clicked on the
How To Use this CD bar, and then clicked on the Introduction.
It
is performed by Robert Dean, retired US Army Command Sergeant Major.
He gives a very honest appraisal of what you will see in The
UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD and warns you that your life will be forever
changed. Now I am really excited!
Since
we had Linda Moulton-Howe scheduled for a chat on Tuesday evening,
and this being Monday, I decided to check out the Cattle Mutilations
section first. During the next hour I learned more than I had in the
past year. And, Yes, a picture IS worth a thousand words. The UFO
Anthology has plenty of pictures, video, sound bites, and diagrams.
After exploring the Mutilations and Crop Circles, I started jumping
around from area to area, and topic to topic.
This
is a fun CD! Some sections present intense details that I have to
stop and rewind just to absorb the information. Its like eating
a fantastic pie; the first taste makes you want to devour the whole
thing, and you just cant do it fast enough. OK, lets move on
As an example, lets follow a path through The UFO Anthology, to show
you how its laid out. When the opening screen appears, you have
a three-selection choice. Introduction, Anthology, and How to use
this Disk. Do the Introduction, then the How to use
and then
the Anthology. Oh, yeah, make sure you have at least an hour, because
once you start, its impossible to stop!
On
the upper left of the screen there are eight menu items to select
from. Lets pick U.S. Government. That will drop down a center screen
menu, of 10 selectable items. Lets pick Crashes; that drops
down a menu on the upper right of the screen, listing an intro. and
12 selectable items. Pick one of those and you will learn not only
of Roswell, but of the other "classical" crashes.
In
the major area of U.S. Government, you might have selected Astronaut
Sightings, and that would have brought up a menu of 12 different sightings.
If you had clicked on Secret Bases, you would then have been able
to select from seven different bases, some of which I had no idea
even existed. But here are the pictures to prove it! Another major
topic area is UFOs in History. This all-inclusive area is further
subdivided into nine sections. One of those, Biblical, has four subsections
with Biblical references. Talk about detail! Just this section alone
will take you into areas you might not have considered before.
I
would love to be able to discuss each section and subsection, but
that would take at least a book or two, and besides, I want the adventure
of discovery to be yours! Although this would be described as an educational
tool, I found it to be a lot of fun too. The ad for this CD says it
can be completed in six hours, however, to fully experience everything
it has to offer, and to contemplate all the information presented,
it will take much, much longer. However, that just increases the pleasure
because as you use the information you keep wanting more. Time does
indeed fly. What starts as five minutes is quickly an hour. But this
CD will keep your attention even as the dinner burns on the stove.
Recommendation:
This
one CD is the equivalent of a library on the subject of UFOs. The
cost is an infinitesimal amount compared to what you would have to
spend to buy all the books. And this is much easier to use. This is
a MUST HAVE product. I guarantee you will be glad you bought it. Time
after time I kept going back to the CD to obtain clarification of
things discussed in the newsgroups, and by our guests in the chats.
It is an instant reference tool for the serious Ufologist and since
the only item actually loaded onto your system is Quicktime, the Anthology
is run totally from the CD.
Now please excuse me so I can find out more about Lockheeds
secret facility in California

I've
gone through a great deal of The
UFO Anthology Vol.1 CD-ROM and think it's probably the best product
I've seen on UFO's bar none. You've done an excellent job on all details
and I'm very impressed with the quality. I love the song that plays
during the credits, can I get it on an audio CD or tape?
